Olympian Lindsey Vonn Is Back On The Market

After four years of marriage, Lindsey Vonn is splitting with Thomas Vonn, who also serves as his principal adviser and helps coach.

The Olympic gold medalist skier on Sunday night confirmed the couple had begun divorce proceedings.

"This is a very difficult time in my personal life and I hope the media and my fans to respect my need for privacy in this matter," he said in a statement to The Associated Press. Thomas Vonn, said in an e-mail to the AP who filed for divorce on Monday.

Lindsey Vonn is known as Lindsey Kildow before getting married September 29, 2007. It is unclear whether to maintain or re-name Kildow. The U.S. Ski Team had no answer and emails to representatives of the left Vonn were not returned.

He added in his statement that will be led by the U.S. team and expected competition from the rest of the season.
